CINEMA, TV ARTISTS AFFECTED FROM SERVICE TAX

The cinema, television artists and technicians from all over India are affected severely with the 1st of July 2012 order of the Central Government finance ministry. The harsh service tax levy of 12.36 percent also affect is a big blow was protested in Bangalore by Kannada cinema artists at a meeting in Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.

Similar levy was made in 2010 but the then Finance Minister now President of India Pranab Mukerjee exempted from service tax on copyrights relation to recording of cinematographic films.

Kannada Cinema Artists Association headed by Ambarish arrived to the KFCC and disclosed the service tax is not a good proposition for artists. Artists keep some savings in this most uncertain cinema industry. Artists are found only they have market. For this 12.36 percent tax the South Indian cinema industry headed by Sarath Kumar is meeting the finance Minister P Chidambaram on 10th of January to explain the hardship stated Ambarish.

Power star Puneeth Rajakumar, Jaggesh, Darshan, Sudeep, Raghavendra Rajakumar, Shruthi, Srinagara Kitty, Sanjaana, Hema Chaudhary, Doddanna, Rockline Venkatesh, Raghu Mukerjee, Vijaya Raghavendra, Sharan, Tabla Naani, Mithra, Anitha Rani, Neha Patil, Keerthiraj, Sri Murali and members of KFCC were present at the meeting addressed by Ambarish.
